This week’s episode of Home Town was fantastic! Everywhere you looked there was color, texture, and blending old with new. I’ve been waiting 9 months to see the Warren house transformation (Season 1, Episode 2). When I visited Laurel last year, I was given a private tour of the Warrens’ home the night before the reveal.
The house was buzzing with excitement as Erin and Ben put on the finishing touches. The crew was laughing and pitching in where needed to get the house ready for the reveal. As I walked around, I had to stop and take it all in. I was in awe.
The fireplace was the focal point of the living room. Instead of it blending into the walls by painting it a natural color, Erin went with a variety of bold tiles on the front of the hearth. Everything in the room seemed to be inspired by the Marrakesh tiles. The Saro pillows played off of the tiles with their own patterns and rich orange and blues. The sisal rug brought out the background of each tile. The pottery was a nod to the handmade beautifully crafted tiles. I could go on and on about my love affair with those tiles!
The colors, textures, artwork, and details throughout the home were stunning. It was a nice change from the cream and beige that have been the decorating trend for quite awhile now. My tour guide shared that before a reveal they walk through each room to make sure there is enough color for the homeowner, as well as for the camera.
Of all the homes I visited on set, this home is one of my favorites. The exposed brick, copper countertops, secret door, church pew seating, textures, rich colors, unique prints and patterns, and the vibrant paintings, make the home stand out. If this is what only the second house on Home Town looks like, I cannot wait for the rest of the reveals! Stay tuned and check back in a few days for this week’s room re-creations, where I show you where to get the same and similar items seen on each episode.
