I was invited down to Laurel, Mississippi this week by the hosts and production company of HGTV’s Home Town. You’ll hear me talk a lot about the show and the wonderful people working on producing wholesome entertainment. I typically would go in order of events, but today is Adam Trest’s grand opening of his shop, appropriately called, “Adam Trest Home”.
I had a chance to drop by his store before the grand opening to get a feel for who he is and what his aspirations are for the future. So, who is Adam Trest? He’s a relatively young guy in his 30s, a husband, father, artist, entrepreneur, lover of small town living, with big aspirations.
Adam started out with an online business selling his watercolor prints, stationery, and upholstered pillows. He’s famously know around town for his pillow line that has a watercolor map of Laurel on the front. I’ve seen them first hand and they’re beautiful!
Adam, alongside Erin and Ben Napier and a handful of friends and locals had a dream to restore Laurel to its former glory. He was talking one day with a friend and brought up how he would love to open a storefront in downtown Laurel. He left it at that and went on with his life. A few months later, his buddy called him up and said he bought a building and wanted Adam to open his shop. The rest is history. Tonight marks the grand opening of Adam’s dreams coming to life, to a new chapter for him and the charming town he calls home.
Without further ado, the Adam Trest Home store.
