So much is going on around here, and yet at 25 weeks pregnant, I feel like I’m running in quick sand. Pregnancy is not for the faint of heart! The first time around I was sick until the day I had the twins. This time, I was only sick until about 19 weeks. Caffeine makes me throw up, so I have no energy, lol. For someone chasing three year old twins, working on renovating their house, and getting a business and blog going, I don’t have time to be tired and I NEED caffeine!
The shop I was in temporarily closed because they are moving to a new location, an old railroad station. The railroad station is currently being renovated and Farmhouse Design District will open it’s doors in the Fall of 2016. I’m so excited! I wish I could be helping with the renovations, but being pregnant and all, they feel it best that I stay away for a lot of the work. I swear, one day they will find me with a crowbar ripping up floor boards. Lol.
In the meantime, I’ve been talking with the owners about their vision for the store and I’m blown away! I wanted to give you a glimpse of what the railroad station currently looks like and the vision for what it will become based on their design boards. Farmhouse Design District blends, “A light and airy romantic scape upstairs with a mixture of the elements. A wonderful delight to all five senses. Downstairs is the city beat- cool, and full of that Chelsea Market feel.”
Architectural salvage will be one of the highlights of the store. You won’t see the run of the mill old window. There will be everything from cathedral windows ans barn vents, to Victorian gingerbread. Fixer Upper fans will be in heaven!
I’ll leave you with these wonderful words regarding running the store, “And of course we will all be laughing and having the time of our lives.” – Jenny
